Home is getting much closer

Left Berlin after breakfast on the terrace, 24degress at 8a.m. destination Prague. Although the Satnav might have European maps it doesn't understand German roads, however Eastern Europe and the Czech Republic was non existant on our electronic map, so on to manual map reading and swerving around the streets of Prague. We arrived and lunched al fresco. We managed to avoid trams, Police and rush hour and onwards back to Germany. We passed through Babylon! (Google it!!!). Staying at a small B+B in Regensburg tonight courtesy of the Marriot Group. Had one of the best burgers ever on the terrace. So in conclusion three meals outside today, some amazing sights, many many miles and six capitals under our belt. Many thanks for the messages of encouragement and continued donations. Heading for Switzerland tomorrow and the winding mountain roads.

Long way from home

The Journey so far has been fast and furious traveling many miles along boring motorways. We apologise for our photos but the time for sight seeing hasn't been with us until this evening in Berlin where we visited the Brandenburg Gate. Subsequent photos will hopefully be more entertaining.

Our second night was spent at a fantastic hotel in Amsterdam found by Lisa manning the G8 mission control, many thanks for finding a comfortable bed and wonderful meal, although the cheese was a bit iffy.

Page 2 Stunners

Clive and Dave made it into the Newport Advertiser last week and The Sentinel on 31st May. This weekend look out for an interview with Clive in the Sunday Mercury and a photo feature of their journey is set to appear in the August issue of The Shropshire Magazine.

Advance donations are still coming in (thanks so much everyone) and we hope that there will be a flurry of wallet opening after they return on 22nd June. We will post some pics and travel notes up to prove that they did indeed visit each of the eight cities!

So, it's nearly time. Helmets on. Visors down. Engines revved.

There will be a wee send-off at The Badger in Eccleshall around 1.00pm. They set off at 2.00pm.

Friday 13th Sad News

Owing to Rick not being able to get a visa to let him out of Staffordshire, he is unable to come with us. The team is now Dave Dyer, Clive Jones, Ian Halliwell and Nathan Halliwell (Blogger).

Preparation for the trip is coming along well, as soon as Rick has fixed Dave's trike, things will look better.

A Few Words from Dave

Some people have asked me why I'm doing this ride for the NSPCC. Good question.

When I became a dad somehow my whole outlook on life changed - responsibility, responsibility!Everything I did and do were/are for her. Introducing her to things, going on holiday, meeting people, going to McDonalds etc. Being there for her if she was ill or just wanted to talk and ask silly questions, and sometimes serious ones too.

Some kids don't have anyone to talk to or go out with or to love. The NSPCC stands out as a large children's charity that everyone recognises. Yes there are many children's charities to choose from but this was the one I went for as they are there to help and listen when poor innocent children need someone to see them through their individual problems.

I hope the money we raise helps to put a smile on some sad faces, so please feel generous and get your hard earned cash out no matter how small/large a sum. You will go to bed feeling a better person than you were before.

Finally....we get to see the other protagonist in this daring challenge. This is Big Dave Dyer and his little girl Isabell, who is doing a sterling job of modelling the monster trike that will take her dad around Europe and back in just six weeks time.
